Donation and Support

Hey there!

If you like this project and the posts I make and want to help you, good news for both of us, I need a lot of help.

What I'll Use Your Money For

The money will almost definitely go to buying more books. As you'll see further down this post, I have a library's worth of books that I plan on reading. I actually buy hard copies of the books instead of renting them or getting ebook versions because it helps me a lot to be able to highlight and write in the margins and then come back and write notes from those original notes. Then the notes about the notes are what I use to write these posts. I say 'almost definitely' because that's just most likely what it will be used for but there are some other things that I need like DVDs of documentaries and stuff. It'd be great to be able to visit places like the International Bluegrass Museum or the Earl Scruggs Center or maybe just explore some of the historical sights around Bristol. Potentially, money could fund those trips. I would just use the money for travel costs and entrance fees. Because who knows, maybe the most knowledgable historian in an area will tell me everything if I come to a party he's hosting but I can only come if I bring a bunch of booze and then suddenly I'm using donated money to buy booze and that doesn't look good even though it's all for the persuit of knowledge.

How to Get that Money to Me

You can always just send me money. However you want to get it to me, I'll take it. PayPal, Money Order, Check, Facebook, Snap Chat, Venmo (just kidding I don't have venmo), just put some cash in an envelope.

Other ways to help:

Mail Me Stuff

I don't have a P.O. Box right now so unfortunately you can't just annonymously send me stuff. If you want to shoot me a private message we can set something up there.

Buy the Books for Me

If you don't trust me to use this money for books and stuff, consider just buying the books for me. I've put the link below for my Amazon list with a lot of the books I'm looking for. Any of these would be helpful. They're not all related to country music but rest assured, they are all related to this project. I prefer gently used paperbacks as they're easier to travel with and I don't feel bad about writing in the margins. If the books are recently published, though, please consider supporting the original author and buying directly from them.

Ethnomusicology Wishlist

If you open that link, you might learn about Amazon Smile. It should explain all about it but, essentially, it's a way to donate money to your favorite charities while buying stuff, including books for me, on Amazon.

If Sending Money Isn't Your Jam

It will always be helpful if you share this blog with your friends. Share it in your local bluegrass facebook group, share it with that guy that always argues at jams, share it with students, share it with your parents, share it with your grandkids. Whoever. That will always be extremely helpful for me.

Thank you so much for your support. It means very much to me.
